Easy, free, and great quality photo edits with your smart phone: How-to
we are here to talk pixels well no not that kind of pixel in my last two videos we created a travel photo book using this remarkable camera today I'm going to show you some details about how I capture and edit the best possible photos using this pocket marble almost all of this will apply to any Android phone so whip them out and let's start tapping [Music] I'm gonna walk you through the editing of three to four randomly picked photos from my photo gallery I snapped these shots like as I'm walking down the street or having a dinner with friends so they're not necessarily great photos in terms of composition and lighting you know these are the kind of shots that you always have it in your phone but they're destined to go to trash eventually but hey I found a use for them in this video so let's take a look at the first photo this is a breakfast table of the hotel where me and my friends stayed at in bolz Judah and if you're interested in visiting turkey this is a prime location to see and you can check out my previous video for more boss Jada footages there's a whole full teapot behind it a dessert plate some food Leftovers on plates also the Torso of my friends sitting across from me and in the center of the photo a napkin with a little sketch on it so I believe at the time I thought these were like famous Landscapes stacked together side by side like uh silhouette but when I look at closer it's actually one line drawn without lifting pants so I thought it was cool like the landmarks are linked to one another first thing I'm noticing is the unnecessary negative space at the bottom of the image also below the napkin so I'm gonna crop that out so we have a nice starting point from here I see there's a lot of stuff around but I'm gonna keep them and just put a little blur on them I'll put so much blur that it's almost touching the napkin the blur effect now I feel like I'm drawing the focus even more to the main subject and now what I want to do is I want to use one of the filters I think it's called Vogue black and white that looks great and I'm going to increase the contrast a bit perfect I think black and white filter is a good use here because there's no color that we want I want to bring out so it's it's only the drawing that I want to draw attention to and I think black and white is a good good one in this case I'm gonna bring out the brightness a bit more I think it looks great it doesn't need anything else like now my attention goes directly to the drawing to the sketch and everything else is just helping me to go straight to the drawing so before and after so in this photo I'm on the airplane flying from San Francisco to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines I think this shot is a visual record to remind myself after the flights how good the wine was so I can have it again and yes it was very good Turkish Airlines always meet above my expectations so looking at the photo and I'm thinking I don't want that bottle in the picture so I'm definitely cropping that out and maybe a little bit of my purse as well and I'm even debating if I want the plastic cup in the shot because obviously the wine bottle is the start of this shot so okay so let's begin cropping down a few of the unwanted items done and I'm gonna try my magic eraser so you simply Circle or brush to erase the item that you don't want in your picture so I'm gonna draw a circle and boom I feel like it did a pretty good job sometimes like you can tell the photo is manipulated it's like it's not a good edit so but in this case it's not bad I'm gonna give it a pass I really like the light coming from the window so you can see the information the brand and you know when the France everything else clearly I'm gonna play with the temperature here a bit so let's go to temperature I mean it says warmth not temperature that's the same thing so I'm gonna cool down the colors a bit so it's making it look icy more bluish than yellow and warm and sunny I really like this it reminds me of film Noir even the movie Blue Velvet hmm I think I want to crop it down even more and I'm gonna blur distraction around perfect I really like this final look it's like a commercial like drinking wine on airplane with Turkish Airlines talking about randomly picked photos I have a photo of a Buddha sculpture it looks like it's conveniently located off a side street in Istanbul in a residential area I don't know what the purpose of it or what purpose it serves to the neighborhood I'm guessing it's a yoga place but what I want to do is try to remove the hose on the foreground and the truck near the sculpture and probably all the signs around it we can eliminate the noise so Buddha can find some peace I like that the bushes create a leading line drawing the eyes to the intended subject which in this case is the Buddha so I'm gonna crop down the photo to increase the impact it has on the composition all right step one done it looks good now I'm gonna try to use the Magic Eraser again let's start with the hose that looks pretty good all right let's move on to one of the signs okay it Blended well with the tree behind it okay now the other sign it's not perfect but I don't think we are aiming for perfect so let's try the truck now okay it looks a bit washed but I'm gonna take it all right done I'm gonna do the usuals like the basic like I'm gonna increase the brightness a bit and give it a little contrast sharpen the image and I feel like I'll crop down on it even more I think it looks pretty good no you can't tell where this is because I removed all the signs like locals won't know that this is their neighborhood unless they know about the Buddha okay I think that looks good before and after last photo I want to show you the colourpop feature of Google pixel 6.
So I know this shot is a good one and possibly a keeper thanks to Eric so once you enable the colourpop feature AI identifies and selects the most dominant color in the photo and turns everything else black and white while this feature is fun to play with in itself I feel like it comes more handy when creating a photo book or a visual portfolio or a photo collage because you can pop the color of a thing or two in each photo you have and make the colors match between these different photos and and that way you can tell your visual story more creatively [Music] so there you have it it may not rival my professional Fuji but this thing is powerful five years ago I wouldn't believe that I would be comfortable recommending a camera phone but we come a long way since you're now so familiar with how to use it I'm sure you'll be able to find like subscribe and notification buttons so you'll be with me for more great photography content we'll switch gears next week and talk about the what we are planning to take on once we hit the road I think you'll find some interesting tidbits for planning your next trip as well see you soon have a bright and focus week foreign
