Amateur Sports Photography Big Stadium with Olympus EM10 II – Rugby League
man lee and para here again Okay so today I'm going to watch rugby rugby union it's about manliness I'm going to go about manliness on my brother so it's not his fault so I got mine here you You can see I have my jacket because in the competition they won't let you go without a 300 over a 300 mm lens so they obviously think so I bought my em10 because it's so compact and have 14 in the pocket here 150 . Hopefully this they won't check yeah and they won't check me anyway but hopefully these guards they don't know nothing about crop factor because that's really 300 mm so anyway say over 300 mm I mean they Don't know where you go to the beautiful micro four thirds uh crop factor two you can put a telephoto lens in the gym to take pictures I don't know why there's some [__] about you know you might be selling photos or I'm like what do you mean But you know if you're still 300 millimeters you wanna hold on to the side of the fence anyway so catch the bus anyway this is where the rich rich street this is where the royalty sits [Applause] Okay so on I set up my camera before I went there and this is what I set up so the first iso auto I left it on auto i didn't want to worry about this white balance auto face detection off I really don't want that one I don't Want faces want focus to see people's faces jumping around so for the focus area I put it on block one I put it on continuous auto focus now the em-10 mark ii is not the best for continuous Auto focus you know you still get the hit rate not great but you still get some good pictures with it and then I do a continuous low burst mode I just leave the files basically I don't have to worry about jpegs only One less thing to do to slow down the machine.
Let's slow down the computer. I left it at 4:3 and then I left it in normal metering mode and obviously I need to put it in the shutter as well. Priority When I first got there I was moving towards a speed of 1 1000 Above that stuff was just too dark At 1 1000 I was able to get to the speed to freeze some action but a lot of the shots I missed they just turned out It's too blurry because the action is so fast and I'm racking my brain to figure out what I'm doing wrong here, which is actually the ISO. The iso can't go above 1600, so when I increase the shutter speed it's just too dark because of the iso. Not compensating now fix this and increase iso when you increase shutter speed default camera iso cap is 1600 so change cap of iso auto iso sorry so the way you go to custom menu you go to exp iso and here iso auto setting you see By default it is 1600 so you just increase the limit to get to 256. Now you're obviously going to get a lot of grain and noise but what's the most important action you want to freeze and that's the compromise you have to figure out what's the app I use called dxo pure raw material that actually solves a lot of the noise so you know it's actually pretty nice restored technology is not bad these days a lot of iso noise and [music] [applause] oh [music] so [music] [music] [music] you
