8 REASONS WHY Your Video LOOKS AMATEUR

if you're professional and you're 100 sure that your video doesn't look amateur then this video is not for you because in this video i go over eight reasons why your video might look amateur and give you some tips how to deal with it let's go here must be some kind of intro but i don't like to waste your time so let's get to business number one shaking video sometimes you might think my video is shaking a little bit so what it's still okay nobody's gonna notice anything right wrong everybody's gonna see that maybe nobody's gonna tell you about it but everybody's gonna see that so stabilize your shots by using warp stabilizer even if you shot your video by using gimbal also use stabilization system built in your camera to make your shot look smoother while you're shooting with your hands or shouldery is gonna make your shot looks much better and more professional number two lens distortion not many of the beginners knows about lens distortion but if your lens is not in a spherical lens then you will get a lens distortion in your shot one of the examples is a fisheye effect of course sometimes you can use it but in most cases it looks amateur especially if you shoot in buildings or interiors so in premiere pro you can use lens distortion effect to compensate your lens distortion in your frame and if you're in after effects you can use a cc lens effect to do the same okay let's move on let's get to our colors it's very important to know how to color grade a video to express some kind of emotion or set the right mood for your video and i'll give you some tips how to do it in my later videos but right now let's talk about basic mistakes with color correction so number three is color difference in your shots if you're working with the footage that was shot in many different locations or different times of the day try to set same color correction for all of your shots if you grading your video into teal orange then make all of your shots still orange if it's black and white make all of your shots black and white if you have no color difference in your video and all your shots looks like it's from this exact video it's gonna look much more professional so number four overexposure and under exposure so overexposed sky completely white windows or if your video is too dark it always looks amateur so if your camera can record in log or ralph format then you can shoot the scenes with high dynamic range but if your camera can't record in log or raw just try to avoid to shoot scenes with high dynamic range or use the additional lighting to balance the light in your scene by the way you can check out my video how i'm dealing with overexposed windows when i'm shooting the log i'll leave a link in the description number five noise when you're shooting in a low light condition you will probably get a noise in your shot so to minimize your noise while you're shooting a video you have to open your aperture to maximum and set your shutter speed two times per one frame it's like 50 times a second when i shoot 25 fps and 60 times a second when i shoot 30 fps so if your video is still too dark then you need to add your iso and when you add too much iso your videos start to look noisy and you have to remove this noise on the post production i'm using the neat video plugin for that remember video without noise looks more clean and more professional okay we stabilized our video we fixed our lens distortion we have no color difference in our shot we have no overexposure or underexposure and also we have no noise good now let's talk about sound sound is the same important as your video if you have a perfectly made video but your sound is bad then all your video is bad so number six sound effects you have to support your video with sound effects the more details in your video will be supported by sound effects then better your video will be transitions footsteps bass drops and many many more sound effects will make your video so much better to watch so number seven write music the mood of your video is determined by the music so if you want to set the right mood in your video you have to pick the right music for you do not pick very first track you see you have to fill the mood of your video and pick the right music for it number eight musical editing if you pick the fast music and you're doing slow editing for it it's going to look amateur as well as if you pick the slow music and you edit it way too fast it still looks amateur when i make a video with a good music sometimes i think it's like a dance you have to feel the rhythm of the music and make a good cuts transitions and timer mappings with it bonus tip make a video shorter cut away all the frames that makes no sense think about duration of each frame is it really need to be that long if your video will be long and boring nobody's gonna watch it till the end and we don't want that your video is gonna be interesting so let's make a conclusion stabilize your video make sure that there's no lens distortion make sure there's no color difference it's not overexposed or underexposed there is no noise you made a good sound effects you picked the right music and you made a good musical editing these are small details but when you get it right your video gonna get a professional look so that was it for this video if you know more reasons why your video might look amateur write it down in the comments i hope it was helpful to you so don't forget to like and subscribe to the channel so i will know that you want to watch more of my tutorials
